![]() ![]() Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton breathe life into CD Reiss’ characters. Even though Dario begins to have feelings for Sarah, he won’t be deterred from his mission: Bring down her family at any cost. Dario won’t let Sarah remain ignorant to the truth, but her genuine strength and goodness may be his undoing. Her family’s casual and intentional cruelty becomes more and more obviously sinister to her as Dario refuses to let her look away from the truth. Sarah is also in for a rude indoctrination as the truth about her previously sheltered existence becomes clearer by the day. Hell-bent on destruction, he is cruel and dismissive toward his new bride. She is forcibly married to him while her family is made to watch. Through manipulation and deprivation, Sarah succumbs to Dario’s demands. Taken from her father’s limo, Sarah is literally stolen by Dario. Dario wants revenge, and the best way to do it is to kidnap Sarah. Fate hands her a blessing and a curse: Dario. Sarah is on her way to an arranged marriage, just like every woman in her family. Cut off from a normal education and confined to their own churches, schools, and homes, they are married off young and know nothing of the outside world. In her secretive, cloistered crime family, women are raised to serve the men in their lives- husbands, fathers, brothers. ![]() ![]() CD Reiss’ dark romance will make you think long after it’s done. ![]()
